With spring just around the corner, the sun is starting to make more frequent appearances and temperatures are beginning to rise. This makes it the perfect time to visit some of Metro Vancouver’s most beautiful spots before the crowds start pouring in. Here is a list of our favourite things to see and do this time of the year!
Capilano Suspension Bridge
This is a nice spot to visit year-round, but can often get incredibly busy during the summer months. Here you have the opportunity to walk 450 feet across and 230 feet above Capilano River. Once you reach the other side, there are attractions like Treetops Adventure and the Cliffwalk.

When: Opens at 9am every day of the year (except Christmas Day)
How much? Adults: $46.95, Seniors: $42.95, Students (with ID): $34.95, Youth: $27.95, Child: $14.95, Under 6: Free. BC Residents can also get an annual pass when they purchase their ticket.
Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
If you want a free alternative to Capilano Suspension Bridge, check out Lynn Canyon’s suspension bridge. Smaller than Capilano, but still an awesome place to visit for the day with waterfalls and hiking trails nearby.

CelticFest 2019
The biggest annual Celtic festival in Western Canada with dancing, food, film, spoken word and much more leading up to St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th).

Sea to Sky Gondola
Spend the day in the mountains taking in some of BC’s most beautiful views.

VanDusen Botanical Garden
Another beautiful attraction in Vancouver, filled with various plants and flowers.

How much? Adults: $8, Seniors and Youth: $5.50, Child: $4.25, Children Under 3: Free
Whale-Watching
March and April mark the start of whale-watching season. See grey whales, orcas, and much more of BC’s amazing wildlife while cruising around the coast of Vancouver and surrounding islands.
Where: Tours start from various locations around Vancouver, White Rock and Victoria depending on tour company.
Queen Elizabeth Park
A beautiful park with amazing city and mountain views. There’s also the option of visiting the Bloedel Conservatory which is home to tropical birds and plants with a warm temperature inside year-round.

When: 10am-5pm
How much? Bloedel Conservatory costs $6.75 for adults, $4.55 for seniors and youth, $3.30 for children, and is free for kids under 4 years old.

Lonsdale Quay Market
A nice place to do your produce shopping, or just browse around and taste various treats. With more than 80 locally owned and operated businesses, Lonsdale Quay Market is a go-to spot for locals and tourists alike.

Blossom at Metropolis
An art installation with over 250,000 cherry blossoms created by the Vancouver interactive-arts company, Hfour.

Cannery Farmers’ Market
Located at the Gulf of Georgia National Historic site in Steveston village, the market sells fresh and handmade products from local vendors.
Where: 12138 Fourth Avenue, Richmond
When: March 3, 17 and 31st, April 14 & 28, 10am-3pm
Lighthouse Park
Another stunning location just outside the city, Lighthouse Park boasts views of the Pacific Ocean and Point Atkinson Lighthouse. A great spot to go hiking with your friends, family, dog, or solo. It’s also an awesome spot for a picnic, just remember to take your trash with you when you leave!
