1. Chinatown Spring Festival Parade

The 51st annually hosted Chinatown Spring Festival for 2025 is scheduled for this weekend. Celebrate the Lunar New Year at the heart of downtown with Lion Dance, fireworks, and more activities.

2. Exciting Events of Metropolis at Metrotown

If you live in Burnaby then Metrotown is featuring a Chef Series for the first time! Featuring BC’s top chefs to showcase their skills and tricks followed by a traditional lions dance. Other activities include a workshop to “Learn How to Lion Dance”, cultural seminar by the Chinese Canadian Museum with lots of fun games and you can also learn Chinese phrases!

3. Year of the Pig Temple Fair at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden

5. Lunar Celebration at Museum of Surrey

Join the Museum of Surrey in partnership with Chinese Village Club for a free, family-friendly Lunar New Year celebration! Explore the traditions of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures through an exciting lineup of activities, including live performances, dragon dance workshops, poetry readings, tai chi demonstrations, storytelling, and more.

6. Lunar New Year at Granville Island

Granville Island will be hosting several festive activities this week to start off the Year of the Snake called the Lunar Fest. You can watch the traditional lion dance, sugar painting, and learn Chinese calligraphy (registration ahead of time required, learn more on their website).

When: Starting February 1st, 11 am to 4 pm
